Hey there Reader, I don't have much to say this week, as its been hectic moving into the summer and making headway on the downstairs. It has been a year since I have really felt like I could call myself a true "maker." Sure I have done a lot of house stuff, I have made some soaps and bath bombs, but not having my dedicated craft space has made it tough to try newer and more complex projects. I don't know if you have ever had this experience where you can't do stuff you like doing. The irony that I can't make things because I have too much to make is not lost on me. I have big plans and lots of things I want to be doing, but with the wall work taking up all of my time, it seems silly to start a new project. Especially because any time working on that project is time I could instead be using to finish up walls. Weirdly, I feel guilty if I work on something else besides the walls. I love Pinterest. It is a great website that my mom actually owns stock in no...

The Cleanse is Over - Lets Cook Something Delicious!

Image
Hey Reader, I was doing a totally-medically-approved-not-at-all-made-up cleanse for two months and when it was over I wanted nothing more than to put nothing carbs and gravy into my body. I had no food but fiber shakes and sandwiches. I found myself deep in the Pinterest vortex looking at recipes - fantasizing about when I could eat again. I found myself drawn to two major recipes. Since I skipped it last time, lets start with the crack bread (features no actual crack). It is pretty simple actually, you take a loaf of hard bread - why is that so hard to find here in California... are your mouth's sensitive to crunchy things? - and stuff it full of deliciousness. I didn't use Parmesan like the recipe called for and instead used mozzarella. I really lik...

My First Post! - A Brief History of My Making

Image
Hey readers! My name is JoshPrime and I like trying new things - or more specifically - making new things. This blog is where I will painstakingly record my inspiration and process as I make (hopefully) cool stuff. My facebook albums - Josh makes [insert random thing here] now - just aren't cutting it anymore. I want to keep better track of what I want to do differently so that I can keep getting better. I am a big advocate of making things yourself. Not only will it help when the zombie apocalypse comes, but it keeps you thinking creatively and lets you tinker with things until they are just how you want them. Plus, its super fun. (Puppets are a vital part of survival in the zombie apocalypse. Do you see any puppets in The Walking Dead? No, and people die all the time on that show.) My first puppet: Chloe It all started with the puppets. Puppets aren't just for teaching the ABCs on Sesame Street, or for proselytizing to children about the bible. If you don't know...
