Sewing Room 3 - All the storage!

Image
Hey Reader, I don't have much to say this week, other than I have finally figured out my storage in my craft room. I found these amazing metal shelving units from HomeDepot . I had set up two of them in my garage and realized that they happened to be the same size as the closet in the sewing room. This kind of coincidence must be exploited, so I brought home another one and started assembling it inside. It is a little harder to get the shelves on when you are trying to put them up in a closet. See, the shelves are comprised of four long metal poles and size shelves. The shelves are held in place by plastic dividers that clip on the metal pole and then the shelves slide over them. The first shelf provides the stability to hold the whole thing upright. That had to go in while inside the closet. That seems like not a big deal, but it is. Then it gets harder as the shelves get higher and higher and there is less space to maneuver since we already established the shelves fit perfect...

Diamond Painting Cupcakes!

Image
Hey reader! I took a trip on my lunch break a week ago and found Diamond Art on sale at Michael's. Everyone loves a good sale, and I have wanted to try a new Diamond Art. You might recall that the last diamond art was beginner level. This one is considered advanced. Here is the thing: all that has changed is the size. I am not sure that is more challenging, just more time consuming. I don't know what I expected. I can't even really make a joke of how I would have made this project more challenging. Actually, I can. Have you heard of Holey Moley? It is a miniature golf competition show that added obstacle courses to up the difficulty and the viewership. Think Wipeout with more golf. Fortunately, I wasn't expected to run through any windmills while I completed this project. I guess windmills wouldn't make sense on a crafting related obstacle course show. I guess I would be more likely to be forced to navigate through giant foam scissors or jump through a big pai...

Spiroglyphics - First Try!

Image
Hey Reader! This is a short post but a a super cool project! I want to bring your attention to Spiroglyphics . These books from last year have made their way into my sphere of awareness and I am having so much fun with them! They are a super cool coloring project that are striking and require only a basic skill in coloring. You start with an outline like this one - and simply color it in! It is so easy! There is a little challenge in keeping track of what is the inside of your spiral and what is the outside, but if you follow along carefully, it comes together fast! I really like trying to figure out what the picture is as I go. After doing the first half of the spiral, you can definitely see some eyes, but it isn't until the whole picture is filled in that the cute little cat emerges! I definitely see myself experimenting and doing more fun stuff with these. I tried one using four colors and got a really awesome multicolored bunny! I even happened to use Easter-ey co...

3d Pen!

Image
Hey reader, I know its been a minute while since we have had a non-house related post. Fear not, there will be more house drama next week, but this post is about something totally different. On Christmas morning I opened a present that contained a 3d Pen! Cue Link opening a treasure chest music . Special thanks to the stuffed animal that was credited with getting me this amazing toy . Link would never be able to work this thing. Especially not Nintendo 64 Link, as he only had two fingers: his thumb and a mass that would typically be the other four. There are a lot of really cool people out there on YouTube making neat stuff with 3D pens. My current favorite artist online is Jazza from Draw With Jazza . He made a sweet dragon his first time . I discovered him because of his trending video using mermaid sequins to make art. Slight tangent: Jazza is amazing and has some great content out there on YouTube. I especially enjoy his style swap challenges , where he draws cartoon charac...
